Current Students: While we strive to serve former students of the University, we also have great loyalty to the needs of current students at Southern. The Association proudly sponsors  the Student Alumni Council, an organization which links students with alumni and friends of SIUC. The nationally-recognized Extern Program, in which alumni sponsor students in career internships over spring break, is a great training ground for students, and an avenue to full-time employment upon graduation. The Association also provides scholarships, support of University activities, recognition of distinguished alumni, and many other endeavors designed to support the SIU Alumni Association mission of "revealing to the world the excellence of Southern Illinois University."
