It is my honor to now serve as president of the SIU Alumni Association and be an advocate for the more than 220,000 graduates around the world. If you are already a member of the Association, let me thank for assisting your alma mater in this manner. By doing so you are supporting scholarships, alumni programs, and countless other endeavors that help keep you connected to the University. If you haven’t yet taken the time to join, I hope you will explore the membership section of this website and consider being a part of our organization. By joining, alumni and friends enjoy career and networking services, discounts from local and national businesses, and all the benefits offered through our growing online community. Our electronic offerings help bring members of the Association together in a secure, online environment.
These are daunting times for higher education, and Southern faces its share of challenges as well. Through our united efforts, however, we can help make a difference. Whether it is a financial gift, being a volunteer, or acting as a mentor, the ways to support our University are endless. After serving on the SIU Alumni Association Board for several years, I realize there certainly are challenges ahead. I also know that our collective voice can – and will – make a major difference in the future of this institution.
