Rebecca and Jerry Kill Alumni Association Scholarship
 The Southern Illinois University Alumni Association is proud to offer the Rebecca and Jerry Kill Alumni Association Scholarship.Kill, who is now head football coach at Northern Illinois University, logged a 54-33 record in seven years as Southern’s head coach.The Rebecca and Jerry Kill Alumni Association Scholarship will be awarded for the first time in the spring 2009 semester.
Kill says he still cares deeply about SIU:
"Me and the guys who came here with me chased a dream and we were able to turn this program around," Kill says. "I had some great times down here with some great people and coached some really great athletes."
One of those athletes was former SIU quarterback Joel Sambursky. The SIU Alumni Association life member played during the resurrection of a program that has gone on to the postseason in the last four seasons. "I wish I could find words for what coach Kill means to me," Sambursky notes. "He's been like a father to me for a long time. He's taken care of me and so many players."
