Students can benefit greatly from the programs, events, and scholarships hosted by the SIU Alumni Association.

Through the organization, current students have the opportunity to:

  • network with alumni
  • earn hands-on experience in their chosen profession

Scholarships

Through the generosity of alumni and donors, the Association facilitates a number of scholarships to help students attend SIU. See more information about this selection of resources available each year.

Student Alumni Council

The Student Alumni Council is a registered student organization under the SIU Alumni Association and serves as a service organization designed to act as a common link between students, alumni, administration, faculty, and friends of the university. Alumni Ambassadors work toward meeting the goals of the Association, making students aware of their potential role as an alumni, and rewarding outstanding students.

Externship Program

A partnership with the Career Development Center, the Extern Program provides students with professional experience in their chosen career fields. Students are matched with SIU alumni and friends in a variety careers across the country. They apply skills learned in the classroom in a professional work environment. The program is individualized and enhances the student’s education.
