As students of Southern Illinois University, we have a special relationship with our Alma Mater that represents a lifetime commitment in the fulfillment of our dreams and aspirations.  We are the focus of the University’s goals and objectives. As alumni, we will represent the result of the University’s mission and the embodiment of its spirit in the world.  Because we are the emerging essence of our institution, we will strive to enhance this special relationship between students, alumni, and others so that the heritage of our Alma Mater will always be a part of our lives.

The Student Alumni Council is a registered student organization under the SIU Alumni Association and serves as a service organization designed to act as a common link between students, alumni, administration, faculty, and friends of the University.

Students who are selected to participate in the SAC will become ambassadors for the Association and will be one step ahead in understanding what it means to be a Saluki for life. They will have the opportunity to grow professionally and gain lasting friendships; network with alumni; provide service to the University and community; and earn incentives through their volunteerism for the SIU Alumni Association.
